Kariba
UNRATED

Overview
At around 6 000 square kilometres, Lake Kariba often seems more like a sea than a man-made lake. Visitors from Zimbabwe and beyond descend on Kariba, with its stunning views and endless opportunities to see elephants drinking from Kariba's waters, to watch wildlife grazing on the shoreline and to hear the honk of the hippos wallowing in the shallows. The sun sets dramatically each evening against the limbs of mysterious drowned trees. Kariba is famous for its hot weather, and houseboats are very popular for those who want to fish for "tigers". In this setting it is very easy to relax too much, and to suddenly discover a hippo or an elephant too close for comfort, so keep your eyes open! [Edit]History
