Overview

Chinhoyi is most famous for being home to the Chinhoyi Caves, with a National Park established to safeguard and show off the caves. There is a network of underground caves but the main attraction is the "Dark Cave" with millions of bats in residence, and the main chamber which consists of a limestone cavern leading down to a pool of deep-blue water, the "Sleeping Pool". Some experienced divers dive these waters, although the local Shona people believe that the caves have a powerful spiritual presence. [Edit]
