Vinh

Overview

Vinh is a rather nondescript city on the coast to the south of Hanoi . It is the centre of some of the poorest areas in Vietnam and thus provides the visitor some insight into the difficulties facing a country emerging from a long period of isolation. While specific sights of note are few and far between in this province, a trip through it provides food for thought. Ho Chi Minh was born 14 kilometres from Vinh and a museum is established in his home town of Kim Lien Village to commerate the fact.
