Hoi An

Overview
For many centuries the former Faifo had been one of Southeast Asia's most important ports. Hoi An was spared much of the destruction of the Vietnam War and has preserved many of its ancient relics. The town has a thriving artists colony and visitors can buy unique and unusual works of art. Its blend of Japanese and Chinese architecture is only found in this ancient port city. The regional food in Hoi An is superb and attracts a lot of tourists. Hoi An was the first place in Vietnam to be exposed to Christianity. Many travellers have commented that this it one of the best sights in Vietnam.
