Northampton

Overview

Much of Northampton's charm lies in its many attractive and architecturally distinctive buildings. Colonial-era buildings survive along the early roads of the city, including South Street, Elm Street, and Bridge Street.  It is a college town in Western Massachusetts, surrounded by some of the state's most prestigious colleges.  Downtown Northampton is a local art mecca.  Shops there sell everything from candles and belly dancing garb to modern art and body piercing. Coffee shops and ethnic restaurants line the streets of this small city where college students and locals love to explore.
