Overview

Bordering seven states makes Kentucky a useful hub for any larger United States trip. However, in itself it has some particularly interesting features that will undoubtedly keep the visitor’s attention. There are numerous bourbon distilleries which can offer tours including Maker’s Mark near Loretto, Buffalo Trace in Frankfurt, the state capital and Jim Beam’s Outpost in Clermont. The Mammoth Cave system deserves its name as it is the largest recorded in the world. Louisville with its thousands of restaurants and cultural sites such as the Kentucky Derby Museum, Belle of Louisville and Cathedral of the Assumption will certainly entertain. The Bluegrass State has amongst the largest manmade lakes in the United States in the Kentucky Lake, an intriguing indoor forest and an ingenious self-supporting staircase.
