Overview

The variety of ecosystems across the six islands that make up the Hawaiian archipelago: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, The Big Island, Molokai and Lanai means it will be difficult for any visitor to not find something to entertain themselves with. There really are seemingly endless water activities, although land and air also have a fair share. See a reef from a submarine, try the Hawaiian staple of surfing or go whale watching after a dive. However these are only a selection. There is also opportunity for kayaking, outrigger canoeing and jet skiing, although these do not exhaust the water possibilities. On land, options are just as exciting: skiing on a volcano, strolling around heian and ancient fishponds, hiking in the crater of Haleakala or exploring tropical rainforest. The air can be experienced through hang gliding, a helicopter ride or in the often thrilling vintage biplane. Of course the many, many beaches can offer seclusion or the company of others as desired. All of this is a backdrop of the ever impressive natural world: the Waimea Canyon, amongst the highest sea cliffs in the world and volcanic landscapes.

This is due to the inclusion of 7 Maryland counties and 5 Virginian counties.
