Getting Around

Tunis is divided into the old city, known as the medina, and the new city, or ville nouvelle in French. Tunis is well-served by a convenient four-line light metro system run by Société des Transports des Tunis {1} (French/Arabic only). The interchange hub for all lines is in the center of town at Place de la République/Place de Barcelone. Single trips cost 0,410 TD. The TGM suburban train line, starting at Tunis Marine station on Lines 1-4, connects to La Goulette (ferries), Sidi Bou Saïd, Carthage and the beaches of Marsa.
