Southern Africa
Overview
With exports such as gold diamonds and uranium, the region will, like many others on the continent be able to compete internationally once political stability returns. The confusingly named South Africa is already in quite a strong economic position, but this unfortunately not anywhere near the case for the majority of the remaining nations. There are many regions still engaged in conflict or which have only recently ended one. This means that the visitor must pick their destination with care. Unfortunately this is not the only limit on where the visitor can travel as currently there are some disease issues. However, not everything is so dismal. The visitor can head to Lake Malawi, which is surrounded by mountains for some diving or relaxation along its shore. Alternatively the visitor can venture offshore to Madagascar which has the added benefit of not being filled with tourists.
