Air The main airline to serve St Vincent & the Grenadines is LIAT (LI) (handled by British Airways). American Eagle offers direct flights from Costa Rica to St Vincent & the Grenadines. Alternatively passengers can fly to a neighbouring island – Barbados Grenada Martinique St Lucia or Trinidad – and continue their journey by prop plane. Mustique Airways and Aero Services run services from Barbados and Air Martinique runs from the French West Indies. Approximate flight times From St Vincent to London (via Barbados) is 9 hours to Los Angeles is 9 hours to New York is 5 hours and to Singapore is 33 hours. International airport ET Joshua (SVD) is 3km (2 miles) from Kingstown. Buses and taxis go from the airport to the city. There are standard fares to a number of major hotels throughout the island. There are also small airports on Bequia Union Island Canouan and Mustique for light aircraft. Departure tax EC$27 on all international departures. Children under 12 years and passengers staying for less than 24 hours are exempt. Sea Kingstown and some of the Grenadines are ports of call for a number of cruise lines: CIC Epirotiki Paquet Cruises Hapag Lloyd and Princess Cruises for example. Some lines also put in at one or other of the Grenadine Islands. Smaller boats ply between the islands especially to and from Barbados. However more visitors come in by airplane.
