Pjatigorsk
Overview
Pyatigorsk is a small town hidden in the Northern Caucasus mountains with the population of about 150,000 people. "Pyatigorsk" means "Five Mountains Town". This place is a famous Russian mineral water resort and even during the time of the tsars the nobles would come to drink, bathe and relax in the mineral water and recover their health.
Pyatigorsk was the home of the poet Lermontov, and the site of his death in a duel.
City life revolves around the linguistic university, pharmaceutical college, and outdoor activities.
Pyatigorsk is at the same latitude as Minneapolis, and they have similar weather patterns in the summer: very hot and humid.
