Overview
Gdynia (Gdingen) had in the year of 1920 only 1200 inhabitants, but has now a population of almost 250 000. The growth to a city came in the 1930-ies as a result of the Treaty of Versailles when a strip of German territory (the Polish corridor) was awarded to newly independent Poland. Beautiful modern city. Worth seeing! 20 km north from the city of Gdansk (Danzig).
