Overview

If this city were in England, it would probably be described as a spa town due to all the harnessed geothermal activity. Thermal pools, parks and mudpits abound. Don't be surprised to see steam issuing from the ground.

The visitor can take advantage of this in addition to an assortment of museums and gardens. They should also make the most of the opportunity to learn about the Maori culture, it being the foundation for regional Maori mythology.
