Nouâdhibou Getting There & Away
Getting There & Away
It is a long way to Nouadhibou, wherever you are coming from. Coming from Morocco, you have just had about two tiring days of sand driving, customs and avoiding landmines. Going to Nouakchott you have about two more days of sand driving on the beach ahead of you.
There is also a train, which takes you to Zouerate , one look on the map will tell you this is the wrong direction, but from Zouerate the rest of the country is accesibel by road. Taking this route has one other advantage, namely that you can see Chingetti and Ouadane on your way from Nouadhibou to Nouakchott . Taking the route via the beach woule mean you have to go back up north to see these ancient caravane city. For more info on the train see the Zouerate section.
