San Vito di Cadore
Overview
Situated in the art of the Italian dolomite mountains in the north eastern corner of Italy. Very close to the town are the ski slopes of S.Vito di Cadore (within walking distance), within the larger area of the Superski Dolomites in zone 01 of Cortina, San Vito and Misurina: 50 ski lifts, 160 km downhill ski runs with artificial snow-making system, 130 km nordic ski runs, 300 teachers and a public Skibus for the slopes of Cortina and San Vito.
In a few minutes you can stroll through the streetsof Cortina d'Ampezzo, a showcase of worldliness, custom and culture at high altitude (only 10 km). Not far from San Vito are: Pieve di Cadore, birthplace of Titian , one of the most renowned painters of the Renaissance, whose house you can visit; the incomparable Lago di Misurina within whose waters are reflected the Three Peaks of Lavaredo; } the Eyeglasses Museum at Tai di Cadore; the murales of Cibiana di Cadore and the Cloud Museum of Monte Rite founded by the mountain climber Reinold Messner.
