Degree of risk: very high food or waterborne diseases: bacterial and protozoal diarrhea, hepatitis A, and typhoid fever vectorborne diseases: malaria and yellow fever are high risks in some locations water contact disease: schistosomiasis respiratory disease: meningococcal meningitis (2004). Before traveling make sure you have the Yellow Fever jab, hepatitis A , Typhoid anf Tetanus jabs up to date. Malaria tablets are highly recommended. Once there make sure you drink only bottled water.
