Overview

Toulouse is one of the most stylish cities of Southern France. Situated between the Mediterranean (150 km away) and the Atlantic (250 km), and just 110 km from the ski resorts of the Pyrenees and 730 km from Paris , Toulouse is the chief city of the huge Midi-Pyrénées Region and the fourth largest city in France. With over 700,000 inhabitants and growing, Greater Toulouse is among the leading great metropolises of Southern Europe.

Over the past centuries the city of Toulouse has become home to a growing collection of monuments, fine edifices and works of art, which stand as witnesses of its diverse culture and stimulate the curiosity of its visitors.

The most important are the Capitol with the City Hall, the Archives Tower and the courtyard of Henri IV., the Basilica of Saint Sernin, the Jacobin Monastery (dating back to 1275) and the Hotel de Bernuy, a sumptuous Renaissance home of the pastel merchant Jean de Bernuy (1504-1530).
