Overview
The chateau of Meung is loctaed right in the heart of town. Until the 18-th century it was the seat of the arch-bishops of Orleans . The catsle dates back to the 12-th century, but most of what you see is from the 16-th century. The dungeons of the castle had a very famous visitor : Francois Villon the scoundrel poet.
In the park of the chateau you find 15 acres of French style gardens and a music pavillion. From the terrace of the gardens you get a good view over the Loire.
