Take a view of the cities and places to visit. Massawa : A beautiful middle eastern portcity. Asmara : The capital city. Dahlak Islands : more than 300 wonderful tropical islands. Dancalia : The hottest region on earth . Assab : The second most important port of the country. Keren : A beautiful small town in the centre of the country. You will need a permit from the tourist bureau on liberation avenue if you are consider traveling outside asmara's city limits. This permit needs to be applied for 10 days before travel. There are very few places other than Asmara, Keren and Massawa/Dahlak Islands that foreigners can travel to.
