Otavalo

Overview

Situated about 50km north of Quito, Otavalo is most famous for its Saturday market, which caters from tourists and locals alike and is the ideal place for bargain for all those gifts you need for friends and family at home. However, the town is quieter on other days when there is a smaller market and is also an excellent base for hill walking as the surrounding area is full of spectacular volcanoes, mountains and lakes.
