The view when walking along the Bund at night, when its 'must see' buildings and those of Pudong across the river are lit up, is definately one for the photo album. If possible, try and go to Bar Rouge (entrance fee applies) or to the bar on top of the Peace Hotel, to get a lovely sight of the Bund, Pudong and the river.

The juxtaposition of the Pudong landmarks such as the Pearl and Jinmao Towers with the late 19th/early 20th century historical architecture in some ways sum up what it feels like to be in Shanghai, even just for a short while.
