Overview

Chile has many National Parks, most of which can be found in the south of country in the Lake District and Patagonia, all of which are stunningly beautiful and offer tremendous opportunities for trekking, horseriding and climbing among other things. Torres del Paine PN is the most commonly visited off all the national parks and contains many camping and hostel facilities. The treks take in huge glacial vallies, rare windlife in the form of both flora and fauna, massive glaciers, spectacular mountains, freezing rivers and green, glacial lakes. The weather can be changeable so it is necessary to be prepared for everything, especially if staying overnight, visits to 'Torres' can range from daytrips to over a week - depending on ones preference for activities, and transport can be found from surrounding towns such as Puerta Natalis . All the parks have an entrance fee payable on arrival.
