Swift Current

Overview

Sometimes referred to as "Speedy Creek", Swift Current is on the #1 highway that is a convenient stopping point when travelling across the prairies due to its midpoint location between Regina and Medicine Hat. 

With a population of about 16,000, it is just of sufficient size to sustain a good number of parks, numerous elementary schools, and a high school/vocational school.  It is also serviced by the Cypress Hills Community College and Academy of Learning Career College for further education.

Other attractions include an aquatic center, walking trails along the creek, an art gallery, and two 18 hole golf courses.

The weekend of July 1st each year hosts Swift Current's Frontier Days, with carnival rides, agricultural and commercial exhibitions, student showcases, historic displays, and a rodeo. 

There is community mass transit consisting of a Tel-a-Bus you call to pick you up as well as local cabs.
