Mont-Laurier
Overview
The small town of Mount-Laurier, around 3 hours drive north of Montreal in Quebec, is the capital of the Hautes-Laurentides (province of Québec, regional municipality of Comté d'Antoine Labelle) , merged with the Des Ruisseaux and Saint-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Iles municipalities in 2003). Mount-Laurier is a site of exceptional beauty and a favourite destination for photographers and those who love trekking and biking. A nature trail leads to the summit and to a spectacular panorama of the town, Matagami lake and the boreal forest in all its splendour! A 200 km bicycle trail through the Laurentian Mountains, over the Former Canadian Pacific railroad from Saint-Jerome ends up in Mount Laurier.
