Overview

'ILHEUS', known as 'Land of the Gabriela', graduated as 'Princesinha of the South', reflects an enormous importance as reference of the coast of the cacao, in the south of the Bahia. The capital of the coast of the cacao, of as much memory, culture and beauty, exerts an authentic irresistible attraction on the visitors. Ilhéus, scene that inspired to the creativity of the writer Loved Jorge, fascinates and involves to all. Ilhéus is considered as a great tourist polar region of the region, where if they also detach, Itacaré, Canavieiras, Joins and Great Mountain range. Histories of the aúreos times of the cacauicultura can be revividas in the Bar Vesúvio and the Cabaret Bataclan, old scenes of the Gabriela romance, cravo and cinnamon, today transformed into tourist attractions of obligator visitation, in the block Loved Jorge. It is basic also to know the Church First of Are Jorge of the Ilhéus (1556), where the Museum of Sacra Art functions, also the Cathedral of Is Sebastião, constructed in neoclássico style, one of the registered marks of the city, and the Outeiro of Is Sebastião, where they are the Chapel of Ours Mrs. of Lurdes and the landmark of the city, that they provide to the visitors a panoramic vision.
