Tupiza

Overview

It´s a small city, with nothing much to do. But it´s located in a fantastic mountain area. It´s a great place for horsebackriding, in a western-style landscape. The canyonfloors are perfect for galoping until your ass comes off. You can do jeep tours in the region, which includes the grand Salar de Uyuni and various highland lakes. And it´s cheap: four days, all included should be no more than 100 dollars.

And if you want to do something in town, you can always circle around the plaza again and again, like the locals do for entertainment.

There is a verry large tourist population in this town, but you can easily avoid the herd by not going to the city´s self-proclaimed 'First and Best' hotel/hostel.
