Overview

Every february one of the most spectacular cultural events of Latin America takes place in Oruro. This most beautiful parade filled with folklore is unique in South America. The "Entrada" (Parade) takes almost 11 hours; the participants seem that they do get tired they dance for the Virgen of Socavon (Virgin of the mines). Mostly Tin mines, though in Oruro there are also Gold mines. So plan ahead.
