Melbourne

Overview

This particularly English city was originally a competitor with Sydney in the squabble over which city should be the country's capital. Eventually, like Sydney it lost, but should not be overlooked nonetheless. It may lack some of the more obvious natural features that many of Australia's other larger cities exhibit, but Melbourne more than makes up for it with its architecture, sport and range of art. The cooler climate may be welcome break for those used to such climes.
