Asia
Overview
Asia is the world's largest continent and has the greatest number of inhabitants with 4 billion people which is equivalent to 60% of the world's population.
The continent is geographically rich from the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest (8,850m), to the rain forests of South East Asia and the freezing Tundra of Siberia. Historically, Asia is the origin of many of the world's oldest civilisations, which have influenced and enriched the cultural, political and religious attitudes throughout the region.
A visitor to Asia will be awestruck by whatever country or region they choose. The Middle East is a sea of sand filled with ancient historical sights intertwined with ultra-modern design. The Indian Sub Continent offers the magnificent temples of India, hiking in the Nepalese Himalayas and the sunshine and beaches of Sri Lanka.
East & South East Asia both have a rich history, from the Terracotta army of Xian to the Grand Palace of Bangkok. The region's character is as diverse as flashy Tokyo is to rural relaxed China.
Asia has exceptional beaches, natural beauty and magnificent sights; the only problem is where to choose and what to do.
