Ghazni

Overview

Conveniently close to Kabul , Ghazni used to be the capital of the empire of Mahmoud of Ghazni. He made raids all the way to Delhi and brough back the spoils of war to this city in the mountains. In the 11-th century the court of Ghazni hosted the best poets, musicians and scientist from the region. Don't expect to find amny of that now. Afghanistan has a long history of wars of destruction and Ghazni has not preserved the palaces of its earlier glory.
